SKYVISION XTREME
VISION NOW COMPATIBLE
WITH IPAD AND ANDROID
Delivers freely broadcast traffic and weather to the
portable cockpit.
ASHEBORO, NORTH CAROLINA SEPTEMBER
14, 2011-
SkyVision Xtreme,
LLC announced today support for iPad and Android devices
with its ADS-B traffic and weather system. The company’s
trademark product, Xtreme Vision, brings together ADS-B
technology, PC-based devices, and now the iPad tablet
computer and Android mobile devices. This combination
delivers a wealth of information to the cockpit and is
designed to enhance a pilot’s situational awareness as
well as aid in flight management.
The SkyVision Xtreme ADS-B connectivity package for
the iPad, or Android device, can be configured to use an
operator’s existing equipment or can be purchased as a
complete system. Whichever the user decides, the new
Xtreme Vision system provides streamlined operation.
Xtreme Vision from SkyVision Xtreme provides a
unique, intuitive synthetic vision traffic display
(patent-pending) to maximize heads-up time in the
cockpit. In addition, the display seamlessly enables
delivery of subscription-free weather. The Xtreme Vision
system is capable of displaying simultaneously on
multiple iPads, Android, and/or Windows devices. The
connection is made via Wi-Fi so there are no cables, nor
are there any connectivity or multi-user charges, which
is common in the software industry. Currently, SkyVision
utilizes the popular BenQ mobile PC—a compact yet
powerful portable device—to display and control its
custom Windows-based software. The application runs on
systems from pocket PCs to desktops.
ADS-B is the next generation technology for air
traffic surveillance and control. SkyVision Xtreme has
been producing ADS-B solutions since 2009, delivering on
the advantages of the technology as it exists today, and
providing a step into the future when it will be both
universally accepted and mandated.
SkyVision Xtreme co-founder Harry Sanders stated,
"The combination of Xtreme Vision and iPad shows our
commitment to moving the Xtreme Vision technology
forward. Our company is dedicated to providing low-cost
solutions that enhance a pilot’s situational awareness
and, therefore, safety. Unlocking the advantages of
NextGen will continue to be the mission of SkyVision
Xtreme. The tools we have developed are robust and we
will continue to increase their capabilities."
The Xtreme Vision 3D ADS-B display is available
today, from SkyVision Xtreme. For additional details,
